I wonder why the new year brings such hope?
There's no difference between dec31 and jan1
but so many believe with each new year
that life will be better somehow,
easier, gentler, brighter;
with the belief that events will happen
we've been waiting for.
I know it's just a state of mind,
perception ahh - is everything.
Sad that we look for the new year to offer hope
instead of owning it, as our birthright
