RIP Lloyd Leist Jr - Nov 24,1951 - Jun 24,2013

I remember knowing you were there, and wondering EXACTLY where?
There was a boy in my school named Lloyd, and I wondered 'is it you?'
Each new phone book arrival, I looked up your name, just to see it there,
knowing you and knowing you knew me not.

I am flooded with memories of mommy's stories,
of your life as she knew it from afar,
and my heart aches at the thought of her loss,
and your lack of knowledge.

People make choices in life, and those choices have ripple effects.
I hope that I am able in my life, to see the ripples when I make decisions.

Someone said that mom met you at the gates, I wonder if you cared.
I'm sure you are different on the other side - knowing all - changes things.

I wish you well on your journeys.
I respected your wishes and honored your truth in this life.
And I am grateful to have the opportunity, to say good bye to your father,
who was so kind to my mother - all those years.

...and I am grateful for my sister Teri,
who reached out of her silence and became my friend.
